Calvin Biselle has served as the Mayor of Millennium City since the retirement of Coleman Young in 1996. As such, he was the last mayor of Detroit and the only mayor of Millennium City. Biselle was elected to the City Council in 1988 at the tender age of 32. He has always been an outspoken Democrat and a tireless promoter of the city. He is a celebrity in Millennium City and he certainly acts the part. He wears expensive, designer suits and large rings. A divorced father of two, he dated actress Leah Ross for years but that relationship ended in 2001.
Though guilty of frequent English language blunders (like “turning this around 360 degrees”), Biselle is a crafty politician, adept at cutting deals and bringing together disparate groups of allies. His strong backing from both local unions and the young, hip programmers and engineers that make up such a large part of the city’s population carried him to landslide victories in 2000 and 2004.
As a general rule, Biselle enjoys good relations with most of Millennium City’s costumed heroes, especially those operating with city sanction (like the Champions) or actual federal authority (like Kodiak and the Silver Avenger). He’s willing to bend the occasional rule in extreme circumstances, but he’s a politician first and foremost and won’t do anything to risk his authority as Mayor.
